PJ Franziska a.k.a. Franzi

Franzi was our daughter Cora's dressage horse until 2014. We acquired the big bay mare with the excellent gaits in 2008. Cora was able to celebrate great successes with the performance-ready mare by exceptional sire Florestan I. Together they came third in the 2011 Westphalian Young Rider Dressage Championships and were crowned District Young Rider Dressage Champion in 2014.

In 2014, we decided to breed Franzi in order to anchor her genes in our breeding program. The healthy, happy filly Bambi by BORDEAUX, who saw the light of day in 2015, proves us right in our considerations. Especially since we broke in, trained and presented Be my Bambi at competitions, the big-framed mare has done her mother proud. She is wonderful to ride and moves like a dream. In her first show season in 2019, she has already put in an outstanding performance and won two tests for young riding horses with top scores. In the meantime, she has already placed several times in elementary class dressage tests for young horses. She gave birth to her first foal in 2023.

After Bambi Franzi two more great colts by ZOOM and CHAMPAGNER FIZZ. Her son Zuper Franzel cut a great figure at the Optimium in front of Münster Castle and was also able to secure a victory in a novice class dressage test for young horses as a 4-year-old.

In 2023, she should be able to enjoy her well-deserved retirement and focus on our young horses and weanlings and train them in her own way. However, that didn't quite work out: in 2023, Franzi showed that her love for foals is greater than any concerns and took in the 5-week-old orphan foal Far Niente, whose mother did not survive a severe bout of colic. Because we didn't want to put Franzi through another birth at her age, we attempted an embryo transfer in 2024 during a beautiful estrus and were very lucky that everything went smoothly.

In 2025, Franzi showed once again that we can always count on her: after her first daughter Bambi had to be put to sleep the morning after the birth of her son Valentin, Franzi didn't hesitate for long and adopted her little grandson Valentin. Although we have to feed him with a bottle or bowl, he has a mummy who looks after him, is with him and teaches him the 1×1 of equine social behavior. We are incredibly grateful to have this wonderful Franzi.
